Original 70s Dining Room
The original dining room, we have heard about so many fun parties in this room! Though I dont love this color red/butter/brown scheme, I do love the fab Kiki chairs designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara. The Kiki chairs are very rare today and would have been worth a fortune! We could have renovated the pool and had a few to decorate with. The Kiki chair became a favorite of Modernist architects in Finland during the 1960s and was awarded a gold medal at the Milan Triennale in 1960. Today, parts of the Kiki lounge collection are still available through Artek, but the dining chairs are very hard to find...
In the 80s sadly the hotel had an owner and “decorator” plastered this room with floral wallpaper and curtains, and 70 barrel chairs. Which we are still trying to get rid of :)
