“We stayed at Hotel Svala for about a week and it was a totally unique experience. To visit Svala is more than to visit Åland, it is to visit a destination of its own. The ferrys out to the hotell are wonderful, Jannika and Sage are the most attentative hotel owners you can imagine. To visit Svala is a break not only for your body but also for your mind. We can’t recommend the hotel enough for anybody that needs to recharge both body and soul. The styling of the hotel is also perfect and both Jannika and Sage are great chefs so the dinners is a pleasure to enjoy!”
“This island & this place taught me so many things I so needed to learn: that islands of peace exist, that rye is a magical grain that can be used for oatmeal & pie, that butter can be as orgasmic as fine chocolate, that beauty can be appreciated and created in every direction one looks, that there is nothing like nordic light in summertime, that the bond between mothers and daughters can result in the most incredible acts of creativity & grace.
