Svala has three rooms and a suite, each one different, each furnished with original Finnish designer and vintage pieces collected over years. The building has been here since 1931- first a country hospital, then a 70s hotel- and the rooms still carry that quiet, unhurried quality old buildings hold onto.
Most rooms share a bathroom, in keeping with the original character of the building. Guests who prefer complete privacy will find it in the suite, which has its own bathroom and entrance. Beds are made up with organic cotton sheets, line-dried in the island air. Bathrooms are stocked with Finnish birch soap and basic toiletries.
At full capacity there are never more than a handful of guests. You will likely meet them at breakfast, or on the veranda in the evening.
SUITE
Once the doctor's private apartment, the suite sits at its own end of the building with a separate entrance onto the garden and a long view over the open field. Two large rooms, a double bed, a sitting area, private bathroom with soaking tub, and a small mini bar and kettle.
From €250 per night. Two-night minimum recommended.
Rum ETT- Room One
A large double room on the ground floor, originally one of the hospital's patient rooms, with windows facing the back garden. Two single beds, private sink, shared bathroom steps away with Room Two only.
From €160 per night.
Rum två- Room Two
A large double room on the ground floor with a king bed at 180cm, wardrobe, and writing desk. Garden-facing windows, private sink, shared bathroom steps away with Room One only.
From €160 per night.
Rum TRE- Room Three
More people have arrived in this room than anywhere else on the island it served as Kumlinge's delivery room for decades. A full 160cm bed, garden view of the walnut tree, private WC, and shared shower steps away. A smaller room with quiet significance, everyone sleeps well in this room.

The upper floor holds four additional rooms, available for private groups, workshops, and residency stays.
