Deeply peaceful without light pollution, the stars are close and the darkness an even thicker canvas. Like magic, the brackish sea freezes over and on the coldest days one can skate from island to island. A Finnish Jul is celebrated with the simplicity and beauty of greenery, fire and hyacinths. We bake and make, our kitchens rich with forest lingonberries, spiced wine, local rye, and smoked fish.
