New Year in the Archipelago

Spend it here with your closest friends, with the whole of Hotel Svala to yourselves, a table decorated with vintage dishes and moss. The evening begins with a crafted cocktail, followed by a four-course menu inspired by winter botanicals of the archipelago, served together at one long table. Before midnight, we keep an old Finnish tradition: pouring melted wax into the snow and reading the year ahead in the shapes it leaves. At midnight, sparklers under a sky full of stars.
New Year's Day is slow and unhurried: a late brunch with mimosas, a walk by the shore, and departure in the late afternoon.

At midwinter, the Åland archipelago is a different place from the one summer visitors know. The days are shorter, with long sunsets over frosty stone and sea, and at night the darkness is so complete that the sky fills with stars. On the island, the new year arrives in stillness.

Samla vännerna och fira nyår på Svala. Hela hotellet är ert. Kvällen börjar med en drink vi gjort just för nyår, följd av en fyrarättersmeny med barr, bär och örter från vinterns skärgård. Före tolvslaget stöper vi vax i snön och läser vad det nya året har att säga. Vid midnatt tänder vi tomtebloss, och med champagne skål under ett täcke av stjärnor och mörker. Nyårsdagen tar vi lugnt: sen brunch, en promenad om ni vill, och hemfärd på eftermiddagen.

€275 € per person. Hela hotellet, nyårsmiddag och brunch ingår. Ni bestämmer själva vem som sover var. Vin paket och cocktails serveras skilt. Minst 6, högst 8 gäster.
