Hotel Svala in T Magazine -a Midsummer Party

In June we closed the hotel for a few days and threw a party — former guests who had become close friends, a photographer from T Magazine, island chef Viktor Eriksson with deer tartare and grilled fish, and a DJ playing obscure Finnish and Swedish pop from a 7-inch record collection.

Special thanks to the incredibly talented and special Joyce for bring T Magazine to dinner and being the most amazing photographer.

Viktor Eriksson or favorite island chef and hunter for bringing deer tartare and grilling the fish! Anna Holm for making delicious beautiful cocktails and Benita Björke (who was born in this building!) and helped make nettle pasta.

Mia Englund with family on Kumlinge for lending me some ceramics to use on the table, and Anni Eckerman for her incredible glass vase.

Niklas Betan for both being the coolest wheelbarrow support and playing DJ with a 7” record collection of Swedish and Finnish obscure pop and cover songs.

Miriam Parkman an amazing weaver of beauty and moments, Laura the Art Director at Marimekko and makes magic in the world, and Annika a fashion stylist for lending their great taste to setting up tables and food.
